Your Questions Answered
I want your session to feel relaxed, natural, and enjoyable — no need for stiffness or coming off overly posed.
The best photos happen when you feel comfortable, connected, and like yourself. Here are a few simple tips to help you prepare.
You do not need to perform.
You don’t need to be “good at photos.” The most meaningful images come from genuine connection, emotion, movement, and presence.
Come as you are.
I’ll take care of the rest.

Wear Something That Feels Like You. Choose clothing that feels comfortable and authentic to your style. If you feel good in what you’re wearing, it will show in your photos.
Neutral & Earthy Tones Photograph Beautifully
Soft neutrals and natural tones tend to work best outdoors and help create a timeless look.
Some colours that photograph especially well:
Cream
Beige
Olive
Brown
Soft blues
Rust
Muted greens
Warm whites
Avoid
Bright neon colours
Busy patterns or large logos
Matching outfits exactly
Clothing you constantly need to adjust
Coordinate, Don’t Match
If you’re being photographed with a partner or family, aim for colours and textures that complement each other rather than identical outfits.
Layers, linen, knits, denim, and natural textures photograph beautifully.

Keep things natural and true to yourself.
A few helpful things to keep in mind:
Moisturize lips and skin beforehand
Clean nails are always a good idea (especially for engagement sessions)
Avoid hair ties on wrists if possible
Bring touch-up items if you’d like
Make sure clothes are wrinkle-free before the session
If wind, movement, or imperfect hair happens during the session — don’t stress. Often those moments create the most beautiful images.

You do not need to know how to pose.
My sessions are gently guided and focused more on movement and connection than perfect posing. I’ll help with direction when needed while leaving space for natural moments to unfold.
The goal is not to look perfect — it’s to capture something real.
Some of the best photos happen:
while walking
laughing
fixing each other’s hair
holding hands
taking a breath together
during the in-between moments
Feeling nervous is completely normal at first. Most people relax within the first 10–15 minutes.
-
Most sessions take place during golden hour — shortly before sunset — when the light is soft, warm, and flattering.
Outdoor sessions may occasionally need to be rescheduled due to heavy rain or extreme weather.

What to Bring
Depending on your session, it can help to bring:
A blanket
Water
Comfortable walking shoes
A second outfit
Small meaningful items
Layers for cooler evenings
For maternity or couples sessions, simple and meaningful is often best.
